COSMIC ROCKER and ZEB (USA) ROOTS OF DUB FUNK
4 - Track 9 - "SUFFERER DUB" BACKGROUND Zeb and Sasha (Cosmic Rocker) met in New York at a coffee shop in 1994 where they realized they had similar tastes for espresso. Soon they discovered the similar tastes in music to. Around the same time they joined forces with Erika Lively to create a party and outlet for there musical creations. the vibe was heavily dub influenced. They called it organic grooves.since, they have collaborated in many recordings and worked individually on various projects. It was an obsession for a good sounding hi hat, that made us start the Sufferer Dub track with a hi hat pattern and then build the track around it. It's kind of like making the hi hat sing and using the voice for Fx. (we really like those sizzling hi hats)...a couple of spiffs helped to for inspiration... they always do. STUDIO All the sampling was done in Peak. We recycle everything immediately, that way we can pretty much reconstruct all the samples into new things. The programming, arranging and mixing is done in Reason (we like Reason because one can go crazy patching delays in to filters and phazers etc...) The finalizing and mastering was done in T.
