MASTER RIKO
(France)
ROOTS OF DUB FUNK
4 - Track 4 - "JAH JAH DUB"
THE MUSIC
Like the Turtle which
is as comfortable in the sea than on the earth, Riko is as good on stage
behind the mixing desk, than in studio.
Dub Master Riko is one of the new dub producers from the young and fresh
French Dub scene.
Influenced by Jamaican
roots and dub like King Tubby, Yabby You, Sly and Robbie and Roots Radics,
Riko usually mixes live instrumentation. He's favouring old school dub
on electronic and likes to keep acoustic and strictly rootical vibes
and production style.
Before he became sound engineer he has been playing clarinet at the
age of 8 then bass guitar at the age of 14.
Riko is also the sound engineer of "l'Equipée Zion"
with who he remixes his first EP with 5 chilled out dub tracks (1000
ex.)
The French dub compilation "Dub in France 2" ever contains
titles of his discography.
The version of "Jah Jah Dub" with "Sly & the Dubbers"
is specially mixed for "Roots
of Dub Funk 4". The first LP is coming soon with 6 songs and 6
dub versions (maybe more...)
Riko met the singer SLY 6 years ago. They've played together with the
band "ONE'S AGAIN" (LP "Les Cartes du Destin" 5000
ex.)
Beside, he's working' at "La Scene Bastille" in Paris (fabulous
concert hall) and he's started his own recording studio and label.
