Emperor Sly
Confrontation In Dub - Restless Breed (Slam Dunk mix)
Emperor Sly play some of the tuffest new dub music around. From their first single 'Rhythm Redeemer' (1993), Hip Hop Connection labelled 'a bass-bin busting monster of conscience dub', to the wickedly hi-speed 'FreedomRiteNow' (Oct 1997), they have mashed the best of deep reggae n rumbling bass, offyerface dub effects with today's big rhythms, samples and dancefloor Know-how.
Emperor Sly has given the scene more than just their own music. They own and run Zip Dog Records, an influential label in the new dub scene. Zip Dog put out the 'Club Meets Dub' compilation series, genre-defining albums which showcase the fusion of all kinds of club music with dub madness.
Emperor Sly acknowledges their roots with out clinging to them.
